Pasqua di sangue in Siria
Dopo i morti dei giorni scorsi prosegue il pugno duro del presidente Bashar al-Hassad contro Daraa, l’epicentro della rivolta. All’alba una decina di carri armati e blindati fanno da apripista alla temutissima Guardia presidenziale di Maher al-Assad, il fratello del presidente. Poi a migliaia entrano i soldati. Presidiati i viali del centro e la piazza dell’antica moschea al-Omari, luogo simbolo dei raduni contro il regime.
Il governo di Damasco, per giustificare l’intervento, fa sapere che si sta rispondendo duramente al tentativo di "instaurare un emirato guidato da un emiro salafita".
Ma a tutti è chiaro che è la prova di forza nel tentativo di annientare, spezzare la rivolta. Cecchini appostati suoi palazzi governativi, incursioni di uomini in divisa per le strade mentre dalla capitale giungono pure alcuni elicotteri militari: brandelli di testimonianza dalla “città martire” siriana, da ieri completamente proibita ai giornalisti. Le testimonianze giungono attraverso i cellulari giordani perché le reti siriane da giorni sono oscurate.
Di oggi la notizia secondo cui un attivista di spicco, Qassem al-Ghazzawi, è stato prelevato dalle forze di sicurezza nella sua casa a Deir al-Zor, nella regione orientale del Paese. Lo fa sapere l'Osservatorio siriano per i Diritti Umani, riferendo parallelamente della liberazione di undici dimostranti fermati a metà marzo durante le proteste contro il regime del presidente Bashar Assad. L'arresto di Ghizzawi si aggiunge ai 43 dimostranti fermati fra ieri e oggi in diverse località della Siria.
