This volume, through multidisciplinary contributions, attempts to condense the various facets of the thirty-year Romanian migration experience in Italy, with the aim of interpreting and narrating its economic, social, and cultural richness over the past three decades. The first section, dedicated to “Research on Romanians in Italy,” begins with a historical overview of migration from Romania and an analysis of data on how Romanian migration has been structured in terms of time, geography, and presence in Italy. Following this, ample space is devoted to the theme of the integration of the Romanian community. The contributions in the second part of the volume focus on the transnational aspects of the diaspora, to highlight its role and the effects it has in both countries. The third section addresses the theme of the meeting of cultures, religions, and languages, as well as the ties between Romania and Italy that go beyond the thirty years of migration experience.
